What to know.
We are two entities working as one. On one hand, we operate our restaurant. On the other, cabin rentals. All employees are employed through Finn & Feather Northwoods Cuisine. This means all of our staff’s primary duties will be centered around guest service, and while every staff member may be hired with specific duties or responsibilities in mind, we also rely on all staff members to help pitch in and contribute where they can at all times. We are a small, family-owned business, and we only employ a few select individuals each season. You are more than just staff to us… and we sincerely look forward to having you join our family.
We offer competitive wages for the area, a shared tip pool, and housing for staff joining us from afar. We hire for two distinct seasons, the winter season which is typically set from the last week in November to the last week of March, and the summer season which runs from the first week in May through mid-October. Any employee that signs up to work for a season is eligible for an end-of-season bonus should they complete the entire season. You may also be eligible for additional bonuses by first, referring a new hire and second, when that new hire also completes a season.
CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS
An incredible opportunity to work under an executive chef of 35+ years. At Finn & Feather, we focus on quality ingredients, wild game, smoked meats, and an unparalleled level of food preparation that can only be titled Northwoods Cuisine. This may be the chance of a lifetime for the right individual. We are much more than a farm to table movement, Northwoods Cuisine is also about utilizing our natural resources specific to the entire Great Lakes Region. Compensation dependent upon experience level and what you literally bring to the table.
1-3 years of experience preferred. This is a support role for the Sous Chef and should be able to handle a small kitchen on their own in all but the busiest times. We are a scratch kitchen…no boil in the bag, reheat, premade anything here. Even our salad dressings, seasonings, and desserts are made from scratch. Absolutely must have a passion to up your game as we will surely become a dining destination for the entire U.P.
Wage dependent of experience, ability to learn and excel, and an absolute desire to own the kitchen!
These are mainly full-time positions, but also flexible to bring aboard a few part-timers for the right situations. Experience is preferred, but a positive, upbeat personality is an absolute must. Those with a can-do attitude will rise to the top. Applicants with both bartending and serving experience as well as any wine service experience is definitely a plus.
